WE MADE IT TO
SOUTH AFRICA

UPDATE May 2nd

Hello! Hope the spring months have treated you well.

South Africa - We arrived in South Africa three weeks ago! We are blown away by what God is doing and speaking over this country. It's an exciting time for us to be here as God is starting many new things in YWAM Muizenberg and Africa as a whole.

This week we heard from Daniel Hoogteijling. He spoke and shared in detail about why Sub-Saharan Africa is a key region in the coming decades. Here's why:

It is clear that in Sub-Saharan Africa God is raising up young African leaders. There is a hungry generation ready to live radical lives of obedience to Jesus. We are grateful God has positioned us to be "hands-on" in what He is doing on this continent. We believe we will see many Africans sent into the hardest parts of Africa to pioneer where there are no Christians, in Muslim predominant countries. Not only to see Africans trained and sent into Africa but also into the Western world in the coming decades.

We have seen Testimony of this in London (A western Europes mega city)! It was classified as a "Post - Christianity" city but things are changing. It is now classified as a "Post-Post - Christianity" city. Where the main religion is Christianity again. This is mainly attributed to African missionaries. YES, you read that right!

The largest percentage of Christians in the world currently live on the continent of Africa. The potential to train and equip young people and see them mobilized in all parts of the world is huge! Not only this but within the next 75 years it is projected the population will only get younger. Nigeria alone is projected to have a larger population than China. While Africa as a whole is predicted to have explosive population growth.

So when we say that we are excited about DTS we are! On June 22nd students from all over the continent will come to get trained and equipped here in Muizenberg! These students are the young people who will be leading the coming generations.

We never know the full picture of what God has in store. From our experience, we can anticipate it being far greater than our perspective.

PRAY ALONGSIDE US

  • Leadership training - Praying that this time of training we are currently in for the month of May will be fruitful and impactful. This is the first time this base has ever done this course, we hope to implement it in quarters to come.

  • DTS students - Praying for open doors for students who signed up for DTS to come as many are having visa issues.

  • More students would apply.

  • Housing - Praying for God to provide furniture for our new apartment. Ease to getting settled and involved in our new home.
